You must follow the guidelines on the particular product you have chosen. Better brands should make this clear on the packaging.

I generally advise you take half the recommended dose to start with, and work up to the recommended dose.

The Foods Standard Agency recommends no more than 70mg a day unless your doctor has advised otherwise.

BRITISH CANNABIS™ answer your question

What is the right CBD dosage for me?

You’ve probably heard that CBD has many health benefits, but you may ask “what is the right dosage for me?”

In this article, we’ll discuss how you should use CBD oil. We’ll talk about how dosage is affected by factors like weight, age, the condition being treated, potency, and more. You’ll also learn how to find the right dose for your body and what to do if you experience side effects

How do I find what is the right dosage for me?

According to BRITISH CANABIS, one of the leading independently-owned producers of CBD in the country, finding the sweet spot is key.

“It’s common for people of similar weight to respond to CBD at different levels. One person may benefit from 30 mg/kg of CBD, while another responds better to 10 mg. There is no one size fots all.”, said British Cannabis CEO Tom Whettem.

Regulation-compliant and listed on the UK Food Standards Agency public list, British Cannabis recommends the best way to find out what dose works for you is to begin with a very low dose (5-10 mg, for example) and increase the dose by 5 mg each time until you reach your target dosage.

Finding your optimal dose for CBD oil is important. A reliable CBD online calculator can be found online at CBD Guru, and more information including CBD charts at The Extract.

CBD dosage for anxiety

To determine if CBD oil is effective in managing your anxiety levels, you need to start with a mild dosage first to see if there’s any improvement. If not, move up to the moderate dosage.

The best time to take CBD oil is in the morning, and then again around lunchtime. Many people will take a small dose of about 30 to 60 minutes before engaging in stressful or anxiety-provoking activities.

CBD dosage for pain

The dosage of CBD oil can vary depending on the pain level. For mild pain such as low-grade arthritis, tolerable PMS symptoms, and low back pain, CBD oil dosages of mild to moderate are usually adequate.

For more severe pain, nerve pain, or treatment-resistant multiple sclerosis or cancer pain, you’ll likely need to use a heavy dose of CBD oil.

Pain relief for inflammatory pain, cancer pain, or endometriosis can take a long time, while arthritis pain, digestive pain, muscle pain, and PMS pain improve within a few hours of taking CBD oil.

CBD dosage for sleep

CBD oil has been shown to improve both sleep quality and duration, but the effective dose of CBD oil for sleep is much higher than for other conditions. You should aim for a high dose of CBD oil if you want to improve your sleep.

CBD extracts of certain types may also have more of an impact on sleep. The strongest sedative effect is associated with CBD oils containing terpenes such as linalool, bisabolol, lavandin, or myrcene. It’s also possible to find CBD oils containing melatonin to make them even more effective.

CBD dosage for depression

Trial and error are necessary when it comes to finding the right dose of CBD oil for depression. CBD oil supplementation and other lifestyle modifications may take several weeks or months before you see any improvements.

Once again, you should start with a mild or moderate dose of CBD oil for a few weeks before graduating to a heavy dose once you learn how CBD affects your body differently

What Are The Side Effects of CBD?

No matter what condition you’re trying to treat with CBD, giving yourself an adequate dosage is a key to avoiding side effects.

Five main side-effects you may witness when using CBD:

1. low blood pressure

2. dry mouth

3. diarrhoea,

4. loss of appetite

5. exhaustion.

With that said, the side effects of CBD tend to be relatively mild. Issues with side effects from CBD most frequently come from high doses of CBD, combining CBD with other medications, or using CBD alongside other health conditions.

Before trying CBD, be sure to talk to your doctor about an applicable dose and any implicit risks. However, stick to their recommendation, If your doctor tells you how to use it.

They may check your body weight and size, the severity of the condition you’re treating, your tolerance for CBD, your individual body chemistry, the potency of the CBD oil, capsules, gummies, or other CBD products you’re using.

It is especially important if you’re taking a traditional drug that contains CBD, such as Epidiolex, a form of seizure drug, and be sure to use products with clearly labelled information on the box.
